Frequently Asked Questions about The Crash Daddies

Who do these Crash Daddies think they are... aren't they a little 'old' for this?
Absolutely not. The Crash Daddies just love rock n' roll. Now, below are pictured some REAL OLD GUYS...

First off, who designed this fabulously entertaining website and can I get them to design one for my company?
Guitarist Tom Woods designed, wrote and maintains this site. He actually does this for a living. See his business website at www.woodscreative.com

How did this Crash-A-Mania thing get started?
Believe it or not, it began on a playground.

Dan put the Band together to perform at the Lenox Elementary School's 'Halloween Haunted Halls 2001' stage show, which was attended by over 400 kids and their parents. The band members all have kids in Lenox; this was how they initially met. This show was the first time the band played out together plus it was the first time a live band had played at this event.

Among the noteworthy tunes played that night were:
• a dead-on version of Bruce's 'Born in the USA', a big patriotic lift since this was barely a month after 9-11
• 'I'm A Believer' ala Smashmouth, NOT the Monkees (every kid had just seen 'Shrek')
• and of course, 'The Monster Mash'.

The kids loved it, and the parents said It sounded really good, so we were encouraged to stay together as a band. We did... starting in November 2001, we began practicing once a week, every week. We worked solely on developing our original music, and rejected the idea of spending ANY time learning covers. Does the world really need another 'cover band'? Noooo.

Where does the Band practice?
Every Wednesday, 8-11 pm at Backstage Rehearsal in West Paterson, NJ. Pictured below is the fully-decked out, air conditioned 25' x 40' 'Showcase Room' where the band rehearses. Guests are always welcome, and 'beverages' are always onhand. For directions, visit www.backstagerehearsal.com.

How come the guys don't have their forearms completely tattooed like other bands?
• it hurts like hell;
• it costs a lot of money;
• you can't do lawnwork with giant scabs on your arms;
• and it will come back to haunt you later, when you're trying to be taken seriously, say at your kid's parent-teacher conference.

Does the Band have a CD?
The first Crash Daddies studio album, 'On The Lam Again', was released June 21, 2003 and features 12 originals, over an hour of music!

They have been called 'boozehounds'. Is this true?
No. You must be just catching them at the wrong time.

What do their wives think about all this?
They really like it. We guess.

What do their kids think about this?
They really like it.

Which Band Member is the cutest?

DOUG
JIM
DAN
TOM

Which one is the 'leader', and aren't the rest, by definition, 'followers'?
Dan, and no.

Dan is the 'leader' not because he's big, but because he fronted a successful band for many years and knows the game. He also produces for other bands.

Who writes their material?
Mostly Dan, but Doug wrote a touching ballad (Goodnight World) about his closeup personal brush with 9-11... in which he also lost a good friend

About your logo... wassup with those creatures with the horns?
Those creatures are the Official, Authorized, Soon To Be Trademarked Crash Daddies 'HORNDOGS', the band mascot, so to speak...

Were do they live?
They all live within a few blocks of each other in the Mighty Metropolis of Pompton Lakes, NJ.

Do they make money doing this?
Not yet. In fact, the average Crash Daddies show COSTS the band money.
